Premier Paranormal Researchers Anubis Paranormal Research Organization

How does one become a paranormal investigator? For some it’s the draw of current television shows, for others it is the touch of the paranormal itself. For me it began in a small town called Leadville. Leadville is at an elevation of 10,214 ft. above sea level in Colorado. Nestled in a small valley between two mountain ranges, it was considered one of the major mining towns in the 1800’s. It was ruthless and non-abiding to law enforcement. Saloons lined every block
in town. Combine this with the high altitude; it became a formula for trouble. Mining was the main draw for people to come to Leadville, which drew thousands of men and their families to this sometimes inhospitable location. Mines sprang up all over the eastern slope next to town. Notables like Horace Tabor, Jessie James, Wyatt Earp, and John Brown and his wife Maggie (soon to be referred to as “the Unsinkable Molly Brown) all came to find their fortunes.
After moving there, I was introduced to my first paranormal experience. I was around five or six at the time. I was lying in my bed around two or three in the morning, when I awoke to see, whom I thought was my father standing in the doorway. I watched as the dark shadow of a man, stood there and watched me. I looked up at him and thinking it was my father, said “Daddy, what are you doing there?” The figure just stood there watching me without making a sound. I continued to look at “him” and could not make out any details. But thinking he was my father, I said “Boo Daddy, Boo!” with great enthusiasm. The figure then turned and went toward the direction of my parent’s room. The next morning I was at the breakfast Table and asked my father why he was standing at my doorway the night before? He looked at me with a questionable face and said, “What are you talking about? I wasn’t at your door last night. You must have been dreaming”. I brushed it off and didn’t think any more of it until the following night when two men appeared at my doorway watching me in the early hours of the morning. This continued for several years and I began to think of them as friends since I felt they meant me no harm.
One early morning, I awoke to see a blue light toward our kitchen in the front of the house. I got up and walked toward the kitchen to see blue light cascading in through the panel windows. I went forward and peered down onto our street. We lived on a slight hill so the street was a bit lower then the house. I placed my head and still to this day remember the bitter freezing pain to my forward of my head, this being caused due to the windows being ice cold due to it being winter. As I gazed down, I saw a large Owl looking up at me. The Owl had extremely black eyes and I felt very uncomfortable. I then woke up the next morning remembering in detail what I saw, but remembering nothing after seeing the Owl. I never had another experience like that but remember it well.
After living in Colorado, my family and I moved to Long Beach, CA. I spent an uneventful teenage life with the exception of being fascinated by the R.M.S. Queen Mary permanently berthed in the City’s harbor. The thing that drew me was the fact the Queen Mary is quite haunted. I spent every opportunity to visit the Queen Mary that I could. I experienced many paranormal incidents and felt drawn to the mysteries of the unknown.

Years later, while in college, I joined a few paranormal groups. I was also enrolled at the then paranormal division at UCLA. I participated in the course, which I consider as one of the hardest college courses I had participated in. At that time, the paranormal was not the thing it now has become. In those days, people would call you “Spooky Kid”, or “Para Geek”. Not exactly what would be something one would be too proud of.
During my time at University, I joined a couple of paranormal teams in which I honed my skills. As time went by, I joined the park services, which I then became a ranger. It was during this time I began experiencing paranormal activity at many of the parks I was assigned to. After time, my fellow rangers and park employees heard I was interested in the paranormal and I was asked to investigate several historical parks and locations. In 1996 I returned to my native Colorado and decided to create my own paranormal team. Thus Anubis Paranormal Research Organization (APRO) was born. APRO was based on the Egyptian God of the Dead (Anubis), and the idea of spiritual resurrection. With the help of my go-founder, Jarek Pierce, we began investigating locations around Western Colorado. It began as a small group but quickly gained interest and more members where brought on. During the course of my career, I was stationed at various locations throughout the United States. With these, Chapters in California, Colorado, Texas, Florida, and Nebraska were created. Currently this year, Chapters in New York and Aberdeenshire, Scotland will begin in 2023. Each of these Chapters are trained in extensive research and scientific investigation techniques. Although each Chapter is unique in its own right, they do follow the same principles required by the main Organization office. Each team, or Chapter, has a State Director, Co¬ State Director, Tech Crew member(s), Researcher(s), Historian(s), Case Worker, and Investigators. A few Chapters may also include; Mediums, Demonologists, Clergy, and Critics.
APRO is not interested in gaining media attention or publication. APRO’s main purpose is to “Assist not only the living, but also the dead”. However, APRO not only covers hauntings, but also delves deep into UAP (UFO) encounters and extraterrestrial encounters. We also cover Cryptid activity through the U.S. and now in Scotland. Our main goal is to find answers to these many interactions and try and realistically prove some common ground as to how it interacts with the physical world. Each case has an interview process, usually with two team members. They visit the location, interview the Client through an extensive psychological interview process and then do preliminary scientific examination of the area(s). If the primary investigators deem an investigation is warranted, then the complete tram will be called in within 24 hours of the initial contact to begin a full scientific forensic style investigation. Each team has the most up-to-date equipment but will fall back on some of the previous style of historic investigations using such tools as baby powder, compasses, and older photographic and video equipment.
APRO has come quite a ways since it’s inspiration in 1996, but continues to move forward priding ourselves with new Chapters throughout the United States and now Europe. We have intentions of creating Chapters in England, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, and Japan. Our intention is to create an Organization that will follow the same curriculum, but also keep open new styles and methods coming from the varied cultures and regions. We pride ourselves with working with other groups to exchange information and evidence so as to collaborate these mysteries. We do not consider ourselves any better then any other group, but do take into consideration our members whom have extensive knowledge and academic awards which raise the platform for our particular Organization.
APRO is now working on starting more social media in order to get our stories and encounters to the public. Our Colorado Chapter, is developing it’s own podcast with Colorado State Director, Anson Hammond and Executive Director, Chris George. We also have extensive Facebook Pages covering each Chapter and inserting that regions paranormal news. Our Podcast, “Ghost Watch - Behind the Curtains” has had it’s preliminary introduction on various streaming services such as; Spotify, Anchor, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and iHeart Radio. We are also in development of a new YouTube production entitled; “APRO Kids”. This program will be done by kids of various ages for kids and their parents to watch together dealing with paranormal videos, equipment, safety, and so forth. This production will be out in late January of 2023.
The Future is sometimes called “The Undiscovered Country”, which means that it is unknown. We feel the same since many exciting, and sometimes horrific, occurrences has been brought to us. We look forward to the future and seeing how extensively we grow and become a professional group of explorers. Many of us are very experienced, as stated prior, many of us have many accolades, but we are quick to announce that there are no experts in this field, only students. We’re so like the ants looking from the mound trying to figure out how the interstate was built above us? And like the ant, how does the paranormal work around us as well?
